- Introduction to LogicBBS
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
-
- LogicBBS is a host bulletin board system, and with this software you will
- be able to transfer data using a modem. This software is only a host program.
- People calling your BBS will need a terminal program. You should be familiar
- with at least one of the following programs; Jr-Comm,Terminus,N-comm,Term.
- With one these programs users will be able to call up LogicBBS and transfer
- data between LogicBBS and their terminal.
-
- LogicBBS is based on the workings and design of another bbs software system
- called Ami-Express. In other words the main idea was to create a bbs system
- that was easy to install and also with alot of useful features for sysops.
- As we only had good experiences calling Amix systems it is obvious that the
- first versions of LogicBBS looks and acts alot like Amix. But LogicBBS is in
- no way based upon the source for Amix or for that matter any other BBS source.
- And when you get more familiar with LBBS you should notice alot of features
- which are not related to any one system. This BBS was 100% made in assembly
- language.
-
- Former Ami-Express owners may find commands and setup similar, but alot of
- new features have also been included in LogicBBS.
- It is also possible to run Ami-Express doors and rexx scripts. But the native
- LogicBBS doors and rexx scripts are much more powerful and should be easier
- and give better execution speed. The full range of Ami-Express is not support
- only the most common. And the data files are not in any way identical to
- LogicBBS.
